Use 3M Disposable Respirators when Working with Insulation
When working on finishing a basement or installing dry walls in your garage, you will be working with insulation at some point. Whenever you are working around insulation it is an absolute necessity to be very careful.
Using 3M disposable respirators will stop fiberglass from entering your lungs. These respirators are rated for fiberglass and dust. Breathing in fiberglass is hazardous so it is not only a good idea to wear a 3M respirator but rather a necessity. You also should cover your extremities, including your feet. It is also very important to wear gloves but not just any gloves.
Ansell Hyflex gloves are the gloves of choice by both professionals and home fixer-uppers. It is recommended to even tape the gap between your shirt sleeves and gloves so that insulation does not get on your arms as it can be very irritating to the skin.
It is quite dangerous to work with fiberglass so do not take any chances. Use some high quality safety goggles to keep the fiberglass particles from getting in your eyes. It is not good enough to wear safety glasses because they do not wrap around your face, meaning only goggles should be worn.
